An elegant evening of reflection and renewal, the Gala celebrates the legacy of John and Vera Mae Perkins while casting bold vision for what comes next.
We are honored to welcome Dr. Derwin Gray—former NFL standout turned nationally recognized pastor, author, and voice for reconciliation and leadership—as our keynote speaker for the evening. After six seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers, Dr. Gray transitioned from the field to the frontlines of faith and justice. His message will challenge and inspire us to lead with courage, clarity, and conviction in today’s changing world.
Directions: Enter the JSU Student Center at the main entrance facing John R. Lynch Street. Take the elevator or stairs to the 3rd Floor. Follow interior signs to the Terry Woodard Ballroom B.
